Thailand proceeds with festivals, events despite royal mourning

BANGKOK -- Public festivals and events in Thailand have received the green light to proceed as planned, even though the country has entered a one-year mourning period for the late Queen Mother Sirikit, with analysts saying the government's decision not to restrict activities will help the economy.
