BANGKOK -- Thailand on Saturday tightened its regulations on alcohol sales and consumption, preparing to slap a penalty of up to 10,000 baht ($308) on those who drink in public spaces outside of legal hours for beverage sales. The move spurred criticism from the tourism industry.
