TOKYO -- Japan's seven biggest automakers saw U.S. tariffs eat into their combined earnings by 1.5 trillion yen ($9.74 billion) for the April-September period, according to results released through Monday, with first-half net earnings worsening across the board for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic.
