TOKYO -- Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba and his Singaporean counterpart, Lawrence Wong, on Monday agreed the two countries would "cooperate closely" to promote a rules-based international order in the Indo-Pacific as escalating tensions between Washington and Beijing overshadow global trade.
