TOKYO -- NATO has no ambitions to become a regional military alliance in the Indo-Pacific region, but it will "strongly discourage China from taking any actions that will change the status quo of Taiwan as it is right now," the alliance's assistant secretary-general for emerging security challenges told Nikkei Asia in an interview on Monday.
