BANGKOK -- Increasingly frequent confrontations between China and the Philippines in the South China Sea this year should impress upon Southeast Asian countries the urgency of a long-delayed code of conduct in the contested waters, Philippine Foreign Secretary Enrique Manalo said on Friday.
