I am taking advantage of the rainy season to explore northern Thailand while there are few tourists around. Though the sky is overcast, the hillsides are teeming with bamboo and teak trees in all shades of green as I drive north from Chiang Mai, and I am delighted to see that I am the only guest when I arrive at Lisu Lodge, about 50 kilometers from the city.
