UDAIPUR, India -- The early sun bathes Lake Pichola in golden warmth as I sip spiced milk tea from a small clay cup. Around me, the city of Udaipur stirs slowly to life -- vendors arrange colorful textiles, artisans open workshop doors, and the aroma of kachori (stuffed savory pastry) and jalebi (syrupy, coiled sweets) wafts through the narrow lanes.
