Typhoon Kalmaegi has killed 114 people in the Philippines so far, as another 127 remain missing, the country's disaster agency said on Thursday. Around 500,000 people have been displaced in the 20th typhoon to have hit the Southeast Asian nation this year.
Cebu was the hardest-hit province, where floodwaters receded to reveal flattened homes, overturned vehicles and streets overwhelmed with debris. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has declared a state of calamity.
The strengthening typhoon is now making its way toward Vietnam.
