Fears grow Japan-China spat may spiral into worst crisis since 2012

TOKYO -- Concerns are growing that a diplomatic spat between Japan and China over Taiwan could descend into a drawn-out crisis, similar to the breakdown in relations over the disputed Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea more than a decade ago.
