Indonesia and OECD to start accession discussions

Island nation would be Southeast Asia's first member of economic group

TOKYO -- The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development announced Tuesday that it will open accession talks with Indonesia. If it joins, Indonesia will be the first OECD member from Southeast Asia.
