TOKYO/TAIPEI -- In the first such trip in almost three decades, Taiwanese Vice Premier Cheng Wen-tsan visited Japan this week to meet Japanese lawmakers, as the two sides step up high-level exchanges amid tensions in the Taiwan Strait.
