TAIPEI -- A heavyweight in Taiwan's main opposition party, the Kuomintang (KMT), has proposed that Taiwan and China coexist under what he described as "separate governance" while "sharing the same sovereignty," marking a rhetorical departure for the party as it faces a chairmanship election next year.
