ISLAMABAD -- The U.S. has signaled a commitment to helping Pakistan counter a resurgence of militant violence, adding veteran Pakistani jihadi leaders to its list of global terrorists and vowing to take action against groups sheltered across the border in Taliban-ruled Afghanistan.
