TOKYO -- Adm. Daryl Caudle, U.S. chief of naval operations, told reporters Monday in Tokyo that "I can't say I'm surprised" by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's recent remarks that a hypothetical Chinese invasion of Taiwan could constitute an existential threat.
