TOKYO (Kyodo) -- Japan's Cabinet on Monday formalized a plan to hold a House of Councilors election on July 20 that is widely expected to test Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba's minority government as the country grapples with inflation and the potential impact of higher U.S. tariffs.
