TOKYO -- Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba said the question of whether he should resign or stay on was not discussed at a meeting on Wednesday with three of his predecessors, as speculation swirled that he may step down soon following the ruling Liberal Democratic Party's electoral rout in the upper house election on Sunday.
