TOKYO -- Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party held its first leader-level policy talks with the opposition Japan Innovation Party on Thursday, with LDP head Sanae Takaichi seeking to build a coalition to secure enough parliamentary votes to be elected prime minister.
