Japan to back certification bodies' M&A in bid to set quantum, AI standards

TOKYO -- Japan will encourage domestic certification and testing organizations that handle advanced technology to acquire overseas peers, seeking an edge in the international race to set standards in areas such as quantum computing, decarbonization and artificial intelligence.
