BANGKOK/SINGAPORE -- Acting Thai Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai has submitted a request to dissolve parliament as the main opposition People's Party backed the conservative Bhumjaithai Party's candidate to be the next leader, deepening the country's political crisis.
