NEW YORK -- This past Friday, U.S. President Donald Trump held his first phone call with Chinese President Xi Jinping since June. The two sides remain deadlocked: Trump desperately wants flashy deals with other global leaders, while China deliberately keeps him waiting to exploit his obsession.
