VIENNA/ISTANBUL -- Extreme weather events linked to global warming are forcing tens of millions of people from their homes every year. At present, there are three times more "climate refugees" than people forced to flee due to armed conflict, and their number is forecast to top 200 million by 2050.
Floods and other natural disasters caused by climate change have led to the mass displacement of people in many parts of the world.
