TOKYO -- Even as forests shrink in many parts of the world due to logging and wildfires, their total carbon dioxide absorption is increasing as warmer temperatures spur photosynthesis in colder regions.
Despite widespread forest loss from logging and wildfires, overall carbon dioxide absorption has risen as warmer temperatures stimulate plant growth in colder climates.
