TOKYO -- Japanese trading house Sumitomo Corp. and marine shipping company Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha are launching a business to ship carbon dioxide from Japan to the U.S. and store it underground in Alaska, aiming to begin full-scale operations in 2030.
