CHIANG MAI -- Myanmar's military has deployed drones, ships and armed soldiers using motorized paragliders to safeguard the operations, output and expansion of two Chinese-run mines, according to local residents, as it seeks to protect one of its few lucrative sources of foreign exchange and stay on good terms with Beijing.
