TOKYO -- Amid the cheers of a packed crowd, Sweden's Armand "Mondo" Duplantis earned $170,000 for winning the gold medal in the pole vault and breaking his own world record at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo. Duplantis also almost certainly earned bonuses from his main sponsor, Puma, for both achievements.
