WASHINGTON (Reuters) -- U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Thursday asked Republicans in Congress to remove a "retaliatory tax" proposal that targets foreign investors from their sweeping budget legislation, as lawmakers struggled to find a path forward on the bill.
