WASHINGTON -- Israel's recent strikes on Iranian nuclear and political targets have the potential to embroil the U.S. in a new Middle East war, derailing efforts by Vice President JD Vance and his Trump administration allies to reduce American involvement in the region and Ukraine to focus on China.
