Nikkei-FT Symposium: The Great Dialogue

The Turbulent Global Economy and the Current State of Journalism

20251016 TGD

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the partnership between Nikkei Inc. and the Financial Times following Nikkei's acquisition of the FT in 2015. To celebrate this milestone, we will be hosting a joint symposium entitled "The Great Dialogue" in Tokyo on Wednesday, Oct. 22.

The event will begin with a conversation between Haruhiko Kuroda, former governor of the Bank of Japan and Martin Wolf, the FT's chief economics commentator. Together, they will analyze the current state of the global economy, including the impact of the Trump administration's tariffs and other geopolitical risks.

In the second half, Nikkei and FT editors-in-chief will discuss the challenges and responsibilities facing traditional media in an age of fake news on social media and the rapid advances being made in artificial intelligence.

The event will be streamed live on this page on Nikkei Asia and can be viewed for free without registration.
