TOKYO -- Nikkei will add 24 stocks, including Aluminum Corp. of China, to the Nikkei Asia300 Investable Index in its regular review of the index that tracks 300 listed companies across Asia, the company said Tuesday. At the same time, 23 stocks, including India's Adani Energy Solutions, will be removed. The changes will take effect from June 1.
The index components are reviewed annually in June, covering listed companies from 10 countries and regions in Asia. Constituents are selected based on market capitalization, trading value, sales growth and free-float ratio, among other factors.
The number of deletions is one fewer than the number of additions, reflecting the earlier removal of Hong Kong's Hang Seng Bank in January.
