Nikkei Climate 1.5°C Target Index to drop Seven & i and add Disco, others

Seven & i off the list due to U.S. acquisition, increasing oil-related revenue

TOKYO -- Nikkei will remove Seven & i Holdings from its Nikkei 225 Climate Change 1.5°C Target Index and add Disco and four other companies, the index provider announced on Tuesday.

The reshuffle is based on Nikkei's half-yearly review of the index's constituents. Zozo, Socionext, Kansai Electric Power and Nitori Holdings will also be added. The change will take effect from April 30.

The index, launched in May 2022, includes shares that are part of the Nikkei 225. It removes constituents from the index if they derive more than a certain share of their revenue from fossil fuels or infringe other rules.
